Gary Newman established the firm in 1978.  With 40 years of legal experience, Mr. Newman has acquired considerable trial expertise.  He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and as a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In 2011, he received the Family Law Achievement Award from the Essex County Bar Association.

Mr. Newman began his legal career as Law Clerk to Judge Edward F. Broderick of the Morris County Superior Court.  Thereafter, was employed as an Assistant Prosecutor in Hudson County for two and one-half years. He began his practice as a Family Law attorney as an associate with the law firm of Skoloff & Wolfe, Esqs. from 1976 until 1978.  Given both his experience in the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and in the private practice of law, it is estimated that Mr. Newman has tried to completion in excess of 100 cases in the Superior Court of New Jersey, and has also tried cases both in the United States District Court in the Southern Districts of New York and New Jersey.
